Swan Lake was beautiful

We took a long drive from San Clemente to UCLA. We were celebrating my birthday so we did not mind. The dancers were great and the music beautiful. I was disappointed in the stage as it seemed like a high school production. I was also surprised that the performance was 3 hours long due to 3 intermissions that were approximately 15 min. each This seemed excessive and annoying as people needed to get out of their seats . I have been to several ballets and they have been approx. 2 hours with a 15 min intermission. In other words try and be considerate in your production to your audience

Fun Evening at Swan Lake

My daughter is an aspiring ballerina, so we never miss an opportunity to go to a show with a touring group. While we love the venue, and we certainly did enjoy the show... there was a malfunction in the set and therefore the backdrop was never quite right. There was a lot of energy, but even a novice ballet watcher like myself could see miscues and missteps. Overall, a fun evening and a great experience. My 11 year old came home inspired! But I can’t go beyond 3 stars for this particular performance. In contrast, we saw the Moscow ballet performance of the Nutcracker earlier this year and I would have given 6 stars.

Performance was beautiful, Venue needs help

The performance and costuming were beautiful and very well done. Heymann Center could use some education in venue and guest management. Why do you open doors to a tiny lobby 1 hour before a show but not allow guests to enter the portal hallways and go to their seats until 20 minutes before the show? I was told that the portal hallways would open 30 minutes prior to the show so they were late. Regardless, there were many elderly guests, guests in wheelchairs and with walkers that had nowhere to sit for 40 minutes while we were all crowded into the small lobby waiting to be allowed to go to our seats.
